ABOUT US

MISSION STATEMENT

Stillwater Theatre Company strives to create stirring, passionate and thought provoking theatre that will engage and inspire our audience.

Stillwater Theatre’s primary tasks are

• to serve the community as a resource for new feminine artistic voices;
• to forge new relationships with future generations of artists and audiences through outreach and
volunteer programs;

• to celebrate the creative artistic experience.

While the essential mission will remain focused on providing classic and new dramas, we are committed in our residency with Meredith College to explore philosophical, cultural, and educational possibilities through the experience of theatre.  Stillwater Theatre is focused on promoting women’s issues in theatre and providing an atmosphere where women can foster strong characters and stories. This experience will provide both the professional artist and student with opportunities that extend beyond their professional or academic endeavors.

Stillwater Theatre Company does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, sexual orientation or familial status.  Through diverse collaboration with professional actors, designers, directors and educators, Stillwater Theatre can ensure high quality theatrical works that will create an atmosphere of mutual respect and diversity.
